A lawyer and a developer, Dave Kleinkopf’s 30 years of experience covers all aspects of real estate development and finance.

His passion for the outdoors combined with his fascination of working in small communities led him to a career in resort acquisition, planning and real estate development.

The most successful resorts, Dave believes, are those with a sense of community.  Leveraging his legal background and life-long participation in local government has enabled him to smoothly navigate the many local, state and federal regulations associated with resort development. In difficult economic times, his background in law, real estate finance and bankruptcy have served him to aid troubled resorts, individual commercial and residential developments.

Prior to joining Crave, Dave served as Executive Vice President, and Co-President, for Intrawest Placemaking, the company’s real estate subsidiary. In this capacity he had direct responsibility for the real estate development at renowned North American resorts such as Winter Park, Copper Mountain, Keystone, and Snowmass. Still earlier, Dave was managing partner of Denver-based law firm Jacobs Chase Frick Kleinkopf & Kelley.

Dave is active in several Denver community organizations. He is co-chairman of a non-profit group providing services to low income families of Denver, and also mentors students at an inner-city school.
